If you like a chance to be Nuffnang's Featured Blogger Of The Month, contact us at helpdesk and tell us:

1) Who you are (Photos of yourself would be a bonus).

2) Why you think we just HAVE to make you the Featured Blogger Of The Month. If you are selected, a member of our Nuffnang Team will contact you.

If you are not selected, don't be disappointed. There are after all 12 months in a year.

This month we meet Fiona, the blogger behind the super cool blog, Inner Pickle.
.

How do you describe Inner Pickle to people you meet who haven’t read it before?

Me: It’s kind of a food blog about cooking from scratch. It’s kind of a mum-blog. It’s kind of a homesteading blog. It also tries to be crafty.

People: So you have no idea what it’s about.

Me: No, I have no idea.

When did you first start blogging and what made you first hit the keyboard?

My very interesting, witty, smart and child-free friend Kevin encouraged me to start a blog. I think he thought I’d write insightful posts about the semiotics of post structuralism in modern Australian culture. Man he got that wrong.

What is the thing you most enjoy about blogging?

Downloading my camera at the end of the day and wondering what I’ll find. Oh YEAH! I made BISCUITS today! (Cue scurrying to the pantry.)

What is the coolest thing your blog has helped you do?

The coolest thing is when people ask me what I do, I sometimes describe myself as a blogger. I love the glazed-over eyes, the vacant nodding, and the muttering to their neighbour, what the HELL is a blogger?

What piece of advice would you give someone just starting out their very first blog?

Write it for the people you know, not the people you don’t.

Tell us about your pets, friends, hobbies, star sign, shoe size… whatever!

One of my greatest passions which hardly ever appears on Inner Pickle is medieval history. I got part way through a doctorate on the logistics of the army’s food supply for the First Crusade (I can HEAR you snoring you know) when I realised no one except two examiners were going to read four year’s work. Much better to blog about the chooks. I love readers.

Do you have a particular favourite post you think is Inner Pickle at its best?

Maybe ‘Fine for you to laugh’.

Recommend a blog to us! If you like Inner Pickle maybe you’d like…

I’m a  long-time avid reader of Little Eco Footprints and Fox’s Lane and have recently been loving Cold Antler Farm.

What do you love about Nuffnang?

The Nuffnang crew actually read their blogger’s blogs. That’s cool. They really like their bloggers, it’s not just an agency/client thing. I love the Nuffnang crew, they’re totally lovely people.

If you had a pilot, private jet and no kids for just one day, where would you go and what would you do?

How about I put the kids on the jet? In a holding pattern? No?

Make it a jet with an on-board kitchen, let me take my beloved man Adam, and fly us over the Himalayas so I can cook up a storm unmolested by small people, talking to my favourite person, looking at a kick-arse view. That’d be lovely thanks.
