This month we meet Elle, the face behind the creative lifestyle blog, Cherry & Me.
How do you describe your blog to people you meet who haven’t read it before?
Cherry and Me is a creative lifestyle blog. I share a new
story every Sunday with pictures of beautiful things I see
and do with my gorgeous little girl, Cherry.
When did you first start blogging and what made you first hit the keyboard?
I created Cherry and Me when I was pregnant back in the
Summer of 2010. I’ve always been a design blog addict
and thought, “I can do this!”. I started snapping photos of
creative things I did – like: outings to art galleries, planting
flowers in my garden and hosting lavish dinner parties.
When Cherry was born I found it was the perfect outlet to
keep those creative juices flowing!
What is the thing you most enjoy about blogging?
I love scrolling back though older posts and reminiscing
about all the great adventures Cherry and I have been on!
What is the coolest thing your blog has helped you do?
This was a secret until now…but virtually all the food,
drinks and decorations for Cherry’s first birthday were
given to us for free!
What piece of advice would you give someone just starting out their very first blog?
Pick a topic that you are passionate about. Don’t target
your posts to what you think your audience wants to hear.
As long as you love what you do, there are bound to be
others who will follow!
Tell us about your pets, friends, hobbies, star sign, shoe size… whatever!
Earlier this year, Cherry and I adopted 2 pet chickens for
our garden. The idea was they’d eat our scraps, poop on
our flower beds and lay freerange organic eggs. Instead,
they pooped all over our pavement, dug up the flower
beds, attracted hundreds of flies and didn’t lay even one
single egg! We gave the chickens back to their breeder
and hope to one day get new chickens when we have a
bigger garden. A lesson learnt!
Do you have a particular favourite post that you think is Cherry & Me at its best?
There’s a “best of” tab on the Blog with Cherry’s 1st

If you were Prime minister for a day what would be your first order of business?
First I’d make it compulsory to take a long weekend once
a month, then I’d throw a party for all my friends at Kirribilli
House.
