I use my own photos (usually those that are well taken). Wary of using other’s photos. Since I insist that others get permission to use my photos, I should do the same. Either pay for works of other photographers or ask if they mind.

usually am just used my own pictures ( may be course am photographer).
sometime if am not have the picture about related with topic, i take from Google and credit to author.owner

Thanks for raising the issue too, I think its good we talk about it and figure out what the right way to be linking and using images. Here is a case where using an image for a blogpost went horribly wrong. http://youthoughtwewouldntnotice.com/blog3/?p=6023
I guess you have to be sensitive to the artists and what they might think of how their image is being used.

I prefer to use my own photos, and when I can’t do that, I use getty images royalty free ones

I use my own as well. Unless I’m talking about a product, then I’ll get one from the company web site. I guess I should ask permission but I never do.
