We’re happy to announce a blogger competition in support of The PEDIGREE Adoption Drive, which aims to encourage people who are thinking of getting a new dog, to consider adopting a homeless dog.

To encourage bloggers to help spread the word about The Adoption Drive, PEDIGREE is offering a prize to the best and most creative blog post published about why people should consider adopting a dog between now and June 15, 2010. We’ll donate $250 to PetRescue, and you’ll get $250 Red Balloon Voucher!

What’s the PEDIGREE Adoption Drive about?
As a dog lover you probably know that there are thousands of dogs in shelters across Australia, hoping for someone to adopt them and give them a loving home. Unfortunately, often people who are looking for a new dog don’t realise how many gorgeous, friendly dogs are in shelters waiting for a new home. The Adoption Drive is all about spreading this message!

Pedigree has launched The PEDIGREE Adoption Drive website where people can search for and adopt a dog, make donations in support of PetRescue to help homeless dogs, and buy merchandise. Pedigree is also donating a bowl of dogfood for each person who “Like” their Facebook page.

Can you help spread the word in support of homeless dogs?

PEDIGREE is inviting dog loving bloggers across Australia to help The PEDIGREE Adoption Drive by blogging about the joys of adopting a dog. How you do this is entirely up to you!

  • Share photos of your own gorgeous mutt.
  • Go down to your local park and film a video of a doggie flash mob.
  • Or simply share a story about an adopted dog you know. Anything that you think will inspire people to think about the message behind The Adoption Drive!

Just think how great it would be if even just one dog gets a new home as a result of your blog post. :)

If you’d like some more ways to support The PEDIGREE Adoption Drive on your blog, you can also help by linking to The PEDIGREE Adoption Drive website and “Liking” The PEDIGREE Facebook page, and letting your readers know that if they also become a fan, a bowl of dogfood will be donated on their behalf.

How to enter
To enter this competition, create a blog post about adopting a dog, which includes the words “The PEDIGREE Adoption Drive” in the title. Send your post live between now and 5pm EST on June 15, 2010. Finally, to enter the competition, leave a comment on this blog post with your name, email address and a link to your Adoption Drive post, so we can judge your entry. The best and most creative entry will win $250 Red Balloon Voucher, and we’ll also donate $250 to PetRescue on your behalf.

The winner will be judged by Nuffnang at 11am on Monday, June 21 and will be notified via email.
